What is Occupational Therapy?
Macquarie OT for Kids is based in Narromine and services the communities in the Macquarie Valley ( Dubbo, Narromine, Trangie, Warren and Nyngan).
Macquarie OT for Kids is an Occupational Therapy service, designed to support children - and their families - so that they can effectively participate in the activities of their daily lives that are meaningful to them, to be included in their communities, to play, live, socialise, take care of themselves and learn to their highest potential, and - as a result - thrive!
Our dedicated OTs, Key Workers and Allied Health Assistants have experience and training in providing services to children from birth to 18 years to help your child thrive.

About Macquarie OT
for Kids...
Paediatric OT's have specialist skills and experience in helping children through stages of development with activities such as:

Self care: dressing, bathing, using the toilet, eating, doing chores, making a snack and organising themselves.

Play and leisure: playing alone or with others, imaginary play and participating in leisure/sport activities.

School: tasks involved with participating in a learning environment such as concentrating, following instructions and handwriting and typing skills.

Macquarie OT for Kids can help with many areas of your child's development, including self regulation, emotions, behaviour, sensory processing, social interactions, play skills, gross motor skills and fine motor skills.

OT can help if your child has difficulty paying attention or focusing in school or other activities, has problems with fine motor skills, such as difficulty colouring in or difficulty using scissors. and poor handwriting skills.
At Macquarie OT for Kids, we focus on your child's strengths and we work in a family-centred way.
Every child is different and every child's needs are different.​

Helping your child to build their independence and skills through targeted and fun activities.

Providing you with advice and support to adapt your child's activity or environment, to help your child participate more successfully. This could involve supporting your child with adaptive equipment.
